Meet Julia

Julia Mae is the spice of life!  She is a joy to have around and keeps life interesting.  She is a 2nd grader that loves school, art, dressing up, BOYS and being outside.  She is the ultimate girls girl and loves clothes, 'spa nights' with gramma Bonnie and again: BOYS.

When Julia was born we didn't realize that she had a hearing problem even though she failed her hearing test at the hospital as an infant.  After 2.5 years of very, VERY sleepless nights and hard, grumpy days we finally found a doctor that helped us get her in for high level hearing tests and eventually surgery. She was suffering with 60% hearing loss due to fluid in her eardrum.  We got connected with PEEP-the early intervention program in our town-and got her into speech therapy and preschool for kids with delayed speech.  Today Julia is reading at the top of her class, loves math and science and is thriving with the help of great teachers and therapists at our local school.

Even though this was a hard time for our family, we feel so blessed to have had this experience with PEEP and the special ed groups because it has prepared us for Hazel and her special needs.

Love the picture---I just love kids dressing up. I also happen to love Julia!

Julia, Julia...my "Beautiful Chocolate Eyes!" Her middle name should be "Joy." She had a rough start with the pain and suffering of her ear problems but her miraculous come back cannot be matched! I remember how worried we were about her in the beginning and how many prayers have been answered in her behalf. Julia's personality is like a continual ray of sunlight. She is happy, healthy, very loving and caring, and flat out adorable! She is 100 percent "all things feminine" and delights me when she sleeps with me, gives me a foot rub, and helps me put on make-up and curl my hair. She is truly a student of womanhood and loves to sing and dance to "Isn't She Lovely?" by Jake Simpson. We don't have to wonder if she is lovely...Julia just is!
