Cakes Again!

There are plenty of fabulous cakes out there and even more mediocre ones but seriously it takes something really "special" to make a totally laugh-out-loud cake wreck or even a post about one.   Please, please, *please* if you haven't gone to cake wrecks go NOW! Todays post is '100%-laughing-my-head-off-while-sitting-alone-in-my-office' hilarious.  If you haven't added it to your reader--*do it*.  This woman keeps me laughing everyday. Also note that the pics are funny enough but the commentary by the writer is the funniest part. She seems to notice things that one might otherwise miss.  

If you did see todays post--good for you!  Don't you want to run out and order some Santa Slug cakes for your holiday party??

Jen's World Famous Haunted Trail Mix Recipe

Just pretend that I'm the Pioneer Woman and my 'cooking' photos are amazing ok??

1. I start with about 3 pounds of basic trail mix: nuts, raisins,

cereal, coconut or whatever you like.2. Add a pound of candy corn. You can also use the pumpkins
that are made of this same stuff...or both (;3. Throw in a big bag of Halloween colored M&M's.
4. Add about 1/4 pound of Halloween pretzels.
These are "Bats and Jacks" from Sam's Club.5. The best part of this mix is the foil eyeballs. They are chocolate
filled with peanut butter. You can get caramel ones too but I like PB best.

the eyes--just the plate! arggg!)Toss it all together and you have yourself several pounds of Haunted Trail Mix.

These are the basic ingredients that I always use. The fun part of a mix is that
you can add anything you like to make it unique. Next year I
am seriously considering working in these super cute candy corns.

Big Harley Buzz Kill

Timpanogos Harley-Davidson  of Lindon is one of the coolest places in Utah Valley.  It's a repair shop, store and a restaurant all rolled into one with some of the best stylized architecture I've ever seen.  It's like Sundance meets Geneva Steel and it's really worth a visit just to see the building.  

Before you stop reading let me be the first to say that I never have and probably never will ride any motorcycle, let alone a HOG but this place almost made me wonder why. The place just reeks of coolness, leather and high grade motor oil.  So...picture me and my toddler (age 3) and my sick baby in the stroller with an O2 tank accompanied by my friend Traci and her 1 year old. We all walk into this place and it was an instant buzz kill for everyone but us.  The place was full of serious Harley types and also lots of guys in shirts and ties on their lunch breaks.  We were the only ones with kids and there were about 3 other women there.  Anyway, when you go take your man and leave the kids at home.

Anywhoo...the point is this:  It's worth seeing even if you don't have any interest in Harleys. There is a small eatery type place in there that serves sliders, dogs and drinks and stuff.  It's a little pricey for what it is but would be a fun part of date night or something.  Anyway, check it out if you're in Lindon.
