Talk About Tuesday: Home Tour

This is my office! We finally finished it about a year ago and it's just perfect for us. My husband customized the filing cabinet bank and bookshelves to fit this room (it's formal living room that we use as an office) and he made the desk. I still need to work on the wall decore in here but it is by far my favorite room as far as organization goes. I love having so much storage space in here with the filling cabinets. I love having the books arranged by color. I don't know why...it's just makes me happy.

Talk About Tuesday: My Purse...yikes!

First of all: take the Purse Poll on the side bar and then prepare to be scared of my purse!

OK....I pride myself on being super organized but I have to say that the purse is a 'hotspot' for me. I've never found anything that works for me long term. Maybe I need to switch to the mini organizing bags??? I am also the proud owner of the giant mom bag and it is full of mom stuff. I do keep a lot of the essential mom junk in my car and then they move to the purse when I go in a store or whatever. As you might guess, my car is another 'hotspot'! Check out Lazy's purse...I am so jealous!

Talk About Tuesday: Creativity

I don't know how many of you have seen the site with duct tape prom dresses but these balloon dresses reminded me of it.  They are both a creative and whimsical sort of  'art form'.  It just made me smile so I thought I'd share.  To see more dresses and other creative and unusual art that was featured on bloggers 'blogs of note' click here.

Hot Topic Tuesday: Body Image

Not to beat a dead horse but this seems to be a hot topic at the moment...

I read 2 very interesting posts on this, I hope the authors don't mind if I link to them:

Spirit body/physical body  by Lanette.  Lanette is one of my moms best friends and lives in the ward I grew up in.  She had the very terrifying experience of being one of my YW leaders (sorry Lanette.  You were more than patient!)  Anyway she is also a lifetime member of WW and is now in the business of helping people get healthy.  She has a very insightful post on body image from her unique perspective.  It's worth a read.

The F-Word...as in FAT.  This is a NY Times article that is, at the very least, interesting and at best is insightful...also worth a few minutes to look at.

Another thing I stumbled upon this week is an interview on The View. They interviewed 2 British journalists that made a documentary called: 'Super-Skinny' Me  (as in 'Super-Size' Me in reverse) about extreme dieting and the quest for size 0. ( Ha!?!)  It's very anti-diet and it's an interesting look at what people go thru to look like Reese Whitherspoon or whoever is cool now.  It's pretty scary!

Anyway, I just thought at the end of January as the New-Years-Resolution-Euphoria wears off, I'm going to need some motivation to keep me going.  Hope these can inspire some of you too.
